Privacy Policy
Last updated: November 4, 2026
Tzolkin has no accounts, advertising, analytics or network features. Your profile, connections and journal are stored locally on your device. We do not collect, receive or sell your personal data.
This Privacy Policy explains how the Tzolkin iOS app (“Tzolkin”, “the app”, “we”) handles information. Tzolkin is a reflective app inspired by Mayan calendar traditions, offered for reflection and entertainment.
1. Information we collect
We collect nothing. The developer does not receive, store or have access to any information you enter into the app.
2. Information stored on your device
To work, the app keeps the following only in its local storage on your iPhone or iPad:
- Your profile — the name and birth date you enter, used to calculate your Galactic Signature (Kin).
- Connections — names, birth dates and optional photos of people you add to explore compatibility.
- Journal entries — reflections you write.
- Preferences — such as the haptic feedback toggle and reminder settings.
This data never leaves your device through the app. It is not uploaded to any server, and the app contains no accounts, advertising, analytics or third-party tracking SDKs.
3. Permissions the app may request
- Notifications (optional). If you enable daily guidance, the app schedules local notifications on your device. No push server is involved, and you can turn this off at any time in iOS Settings.
- Photos (optional). If you choose a photo for a connection, the app uses the system photo picker. Only the photo you select is accessed, and it is stored locally in the app.
4. Sharing and exporting
The app only shares content when you choose to — for example, sharing your Galactic Signature card or exporting your journal as JSON or text through the iOS share sheet. What happens next is governed by the app or service you pick. We do not see or control these exports.
5. Third parties
We do not sell, rent or share personal data, because we do not have any. The app does not integrate advertising networks, analytics providers or other third-party data collectors. Apple processes App Store downloads and any backups you enable (such as iCloud device backup) under its own privacy policies.
6. Data retention and deletion
Your data stays on your device until you remove it. You can delete individual entries and connections inside the app, use Settings → Reset all app data to permanently erase your profile, connections and journal, or simply delete the app.
7. Children’s privacy
Tzolkin does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13. Because no data is transmitted to us, there is nothing to collect or disclose.
8. Security
Your data is stored in the app’s sandbox on your device and protected by iOS security features, including your device passcode and encryption when enabled. Please keep your device secure.
9. Your rights
Since all data lives on your device, you already have full control: you can view, edit, export and delete it from within the app. If you are in a region with data-protection laws (such as the GDPR or CCPA), note that we hold no personal data about you that we could access, correct or delete on request.
10. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the “Last updated” date. If a future version of the app changes how data is handled, this policy will be updated before the change is released.
